Vice President, Commercial and Business Development


Job Headline
Working in company’s midstream, the position is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day direction of all business development, marketing, optimization and commercial operations activities as required by the corporation.
Position Summary
·Develops and directs all aspects of company’s commercial and business development policies, objectives and initiatives.
·Sets the strategic direction and manages the commercial organization’s implementation of value adding business opportunities.
·Develops daily, monthly, seasonal and annual service offerings in support of organizational strategy and objectives.
·Responsible for developing new supply initiatives, assessing new markets and analyzing business opportunities.
·Conducts financial feasibility studies and develops proposals for new business opportunities.
·Oversees the structuring, negotiation, and closing of transactions including gathering, treating, parking and balancing services, purchase and sale of natural gas and natural gas liquids.
·Oversees market and competitor analysis and manages team responsible for responding to request for proposals from customers.
·Provides marketing skills and expertise to company by building, developing, and managing a team capable of carrying out the needed marketing strategies and tactics.
·Participates fully in professional societies and activities related to the gas industry in Texas and Louisiana.
·Prepares and presents strategy and papers for new business and relevant initiatives to company's board of directors.
·Manages and develops all customer relationships on behalf of company.
·Leads, coordinates and authorizes pricing actions, system utilization forecasting, tracking and reviewing gathering service requests, coordination and execution of capacity auctions, and managing the company’s portfolio management systems.
·Directs commercial operations including system gas scheduling, facility planning, contract administration and the purchase and sale of natural gas and natural gas liquids for the company Midstream systems.
·Additional responsibilities include the development of products and services, including analytical support of valuation efforts for gathering and other services.
·Leads the development of quantitative tools and processes to aid in pricing decisions.
·Manage relationships with joint venture partners.
·Develop and promote a collegiate, compliant and professional staff.
·Hold a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times.
·Other duties as assigned.
Organisational
Structure
The position reports directly to the President and General Manager of company and is responsible for the supervision of three to four associates directly and twelve indirect reports.
Authority/
Influence over Resources
The jobholder owns the Commercial and Business Development budgets and has authority to commit the company to new service offerings (subject to company process and procedures).
Internal/
External Interaction
The Vice President will interact with joint venture partners, the company leadership team, producers, processing plants, pipelines and trading counterparts to ensure successful delivery of the Commercial and Business Development objectives.

Experience Needed
15+ years of oil and gas business development or commercial experience required.
10+ years of management experience required.
Knowledge, Languages,
Skills and Attributes
Bachelor of Science (Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, or related field) or equivalent experience required.
Masters of Business Administration preferred.
Ability to cultivate, develop, and maintain relationships with oil and gas producers; familiar with pipeline and gas plan accounting and scheduling and contract negotiations.Ability to apply knowledge to solve problems. Must be detail oriented. Must possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.) Ability to travel to various work site locations throughout the workday. May require availability for overtime hours during peak periods. Twenty-four hour on-call responsibilities.
